″A boat doesn’t go forward if each one is rowing their own way” ~ Swahili proverb

In a competitive workplace, it is easy to get caught up in the hype of working solo, especially if you work on commission and your paycheck relies on it.

However, it’s important to remember that the heart and soul of every great company is teamwork. It’s the notes played by every team member in a company or department that creates a harmonious work environment, fueling creativity and fostering learning experiences.

Here at Luxa, we make sure that teamwork is at the core of our values. There are many, many reasons why a company should place unity on a pedastool.

These reaons include: increasing creativity, boosting the strengths of each individual, building trust, promoting “thinking outside the box”, and teaching communication skills.

When you you have multiple people working on a project you avoid the staleness and repetition that can be caused by solo projects.

This is because, although you may be the most creative person in the world, you tend to think in a certain perspective that can perhaps be limiting when thrown a new task that requires a different skillset or approach.

But it’s ok to accept that you can’t conquer every task with the same level of excellence, that’s what your co-workers are for!

It’s very difficult to think of many great historical achievements that were done alone. That’s because as humans, we are social animals.

We were made to share ideas and conquer difficulties in groups, which is why we are continuously striving towards success. This is all contributed to teamwork’s ability to increase creativity and boost the strengths of each individual.

Along side the increased flux of creativity and skills that come with working in a team, there’s also the aspect of building trust within a community. This is very important in a team that needs to meet deadlines as well as expectations.

We believe so deeply in developing leaders that we decided to make a Four Part Series covering the various topics regarding Teamwork and Team Building skills.

Stay tuned for more information on how to build a great team based on your company’s needs and some fun, interactive ways to garner teamwork skills for your employees!
